Regulations

  • Only registered Scout troops, Cub Scout Packs, Venture Crews, Ships, and Scouters are permitted use of the camp facilities.
  • All units and leaders, while in camp, are bound by the rules of Scouting America, including two-deep leadership.
  • Campfires are allowed only in campsites with fire rings and water, and in the large fire ring. Before any fires are started, an adult leader must notify the Nantucket Fire Department by phone. Fires must be watched at all times and extinguished completely when finished. A hose must be kept nearby at all times.
  • The use of axes, hatchets, and saws is allowed for adults, and scouts with Totin Chips. Safety must be considered at all times, and an Axe-yard must be set up by the unit. Absolutely no live trees are to be cut, or girdled.
  • No firearms or air-guns of any kind are permitted in camp.
  • First aid and safety of the members of the units are the responsibility of the group’s leadership, and first-aid kits must be available at all times. No bare feet allowed in camp.
  • The use of the obstacle course must be supervised by adult leadership.
  • No alcohol, tobacco products, or any other recreational drugs allowed in the camp.
  • All motor vehicles and bicycles must be parked in designated areas. There is no bike riding in the campsites.

  • The camp should be left better than you found it upon arrival. Any item that was moved like picnic tables, grills, etc. must be returned to their original places before any unit breaks camp.
